Sustainable logistics: wooden pallets with a superior CO2 balance
As a company, we attach great importance to sustainability and the use of local trees. Our pallets are mainly made from beech and spruce from sustainable forestry and corresponding certification (PEFC) from Central Europe. It is important to us to produce only sustainable reusable load carriers that can be used for years. With GEBHARDT pallets, you are also opting for a solution with a negative CO2 footprint. A Euro-sized pallet emits approx. -27 kg CO2 compared to an equivalent plastic pallet with +44 kg CO2. This means that you improve your overall result with every wooden pallet.

Wood, as a CO2-neutral material, plays a decisive role in the fight against climate change. Through growth, a single spruce tree binds 1.8 tonnes of CO2 over 100 years. Our packaging made of wood actively contributes to lowering the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, while products made of non-renewable raw materials cause high CO2 emissions. We offer a clear advantage when it comes to complying with upper limits. The reusability of wooden pallets maximises their effect, while the reparability increases the reuse rate. Heavily damaged wooden pallets are sustainably recycled by converting them into chipboard or biomass.
